Disclaimer: this is all for memory's sake and today's "blurb" might be boring. You don't have to read!
This week has been hectic. I've been going nuts with cleaning and organizing the house and Parker has had a very busy work schedule. He's been leaving the house so early and not making it back until Derek has already been put to sleep. Today he even had a low-grade fever and still went to work. We're all really excited for the weekend to get here.
One of the goals we have as a family is to eat every meal we've planned and purchased. Parker and I don't like wasting food, and it's hard to beat the amount of money we save when we cook our own meals (even though we both LOVE restaurants and the fact that we come home to a clean kitchen). With the weather warming up we've been drinking a lot more water, and this morning when I went downstairs I realized we drank the last of ours the night before. So Derek and I ran over to HEB and did some quick shopping before his nap.
He likes to chew on my car keys, specifically the metal part (*cringing*), and it drives me insane. I'll pull it out of his mouth and give him something else to play with and he'll go right back to chewing on my keys. Frankly, it's a battle I'll let him win because A) it keeps him entertained, and B) it's just not worth the struggle. Today I was happy to see him chewing on Daenerys instead.
Here are two pictures I took at the park today. Nothing fancy but I like them all the same.
There was a couple swinging their little girl next to Derek and I and the husband was SO annoying. I actually enjoy meeting new people while I'm taking Derek to the park. We'll chat about a couple of things and then eventually we'll move on and I'll turn my full attention back to my son. This guy however would not stop talking to me! The entire time I was there he talked about all sorts of stuff and at one point he even started singing...It made for a good laugh between Parker and I but man you can meet some interesting people in unlikely places.
